Predator fishing is the
fastest growing freshwater angling pursuit in Brittany with many game
fishermen keen to try out the latest lures and techniques on their
favourite toothy critter. With a large reservoir to explore either by
shore fishing, wading, or boat fishing, you may not even bump into
another angler on any particular day. Also, don't be surprised if you
catch a specimen perch or big rainbow trout during your quest for
pike too!
Pike over 15 kilos have been
caught on this lake. Some examples of some specimen pike are provided
on this page so you don't think Sam is joking when it comes to the
size and beauty of St Michel pike. Also visit the gallery above for
more pics.

Fishing in the Nantes to Brest Canal (River Aulne section)
Pike love weir pools. On the
Nantes-to-Brest canal sections of the rivers, Hyere and Aulne, there
are an abundance of good weir pools to choose from. Sam has details
on hand to help you make an informed decision depending on the time
of year you come and fish. Pike and zander season on the Aulne starts in
January then is haulted from February
to the beginning of May
to allow for more successful reproduction, then fishing recommences
in mid May
and continues to the end of December.
Please remember that the minimum keeper
length for both Pike is 60cm.
