About Us

Theo tickles a big Breton starfish as Flora eggs him on...

  • Oceanopolis is an aquarium to remember and well worth a visit! Complete with three different aquatic realms - polar, temperate and tropical it has 42 aquariums housing over 1,000 different fresh- and saltwater species. There are various restaurants, lovely gift shops and a well-equipped outdoor play area.

  • The Port Musée at Douarnenez is set in a floating harbour where you can explore several large historic ships from a sand dredger to an authentic Thames barge. Also housed inside an old cannery is the largest exhibition in France of traditional wooden boats from various parts of the world.

  • There is a local swimming pool at Châteauneuf-du-Faou and an aquapark at Quimper, complete with swimming pool, wave pool with toboggan, saunas, whirlpool, paddling pool and café. Don't forget in France most pools require men to wear speedos or speedo-like trunks and most have a ban on baggy trunks. They can usually be hired on site if you do forget or bought very reasonably at one of the Decathalon stores (a chain of large sporting-goods stores with a great range of goods)!

  • Rock Pooling: We can recommend many wonderful beaches with rock pools for beach-combing and walks with great picnic spots to enjoy with your children.

Flora the Explorer

  • Domaine de Menez-Meur offers a lovely walk through woods to see indigenous species of animals from sheep and goats to wolves and wild boar! There is a picnic area with climbing frames.

  • The Artisans Village at Argol is housed in old farm buildings where volunteers bring rural and maritime crafts of the past back to life. Many old industries are represented from clog-making and wood-turning to weaving. The museum organises special events throughout the year to include various other skills.

  • The Roi Morvan Park offers 30 hectares of fun from electric boats and trampolines to quad biking.

  • Moulin Kerroc'h is a crêperie with adjoining pedalo hire and day-ticket trout fishing lake.

  • Oh by the way, if your idea of pure enjoyment is a shopping trip in Quimper, your children can still enjoy themselves on this beautiful carousel, permanently located by the cathedral in the city centre.
