Do you sell fishing permits?
Yes. I sell all freshwater
fishing permits as a free service to my clients. So far in
France, no fishing permit is necessary for sea fishing.
Do you sell bait for
coarse fishing?
No I don't. I recommend
that all coarse fishermen source their baits in the UK, especially
maggots where the cost and quality is much better than
locally-available maggots. However, if a visiting angler needs to top
up on bait, whether hook or ground, they can buy these items with
ease from Decathlon sporting goods stores and local tackle shops.
What fishing
techniques do you cater to?
All standard freshwater
(e.g. pole, float, ledger, lure, fly) and saltwater (e.g. fly, lure,
bait) sporting techniques are covered plus specialised techniques
which an angler may not be aware of.
Do you supply
fishing gear or do I need to bring my own?
That depends on the
angler. I provide quality equipment and tackle, however, if a client
wants to bring their own for whatever reason, then I am happy to
accommodate as long as the equipment does the job.
Do you offer tuition
as well as guide services?
Yes. I teach both
angling and casting techniques. Contact me for further details.
What region in
Finistère, Brittany do you cover?
Hour or so driving
radius (all directions) of Chateaulin, Finistère, Brittany. If
an angler wants to venture further afield (e.g. to an adjacent
department) we can easily accommodate this request.
What rivers do you
guide on?
See my wild
brownie's page for my local rivers. If a client wants to fish a
river further afield, then this can be arranged.
What flies should I
tie for Breton rivers? Do you supply them?
An angler need not bust
a gut over fly selection. Most tiny (size 16 to 18) caddis/mayfly
emerger patterns will do the job. I do supply flies to those anglers
I guide, however, if an angler wants to buy Breton river flies in
quantity I can recommend private fly tyers to contact.
