Smooth sands at La Torche beach

Coves like this are not uncommon!

South Coast: there are many lovely resorts on the south coast from Beg Meil, Port Manec'h with its lovely beach huts, the seemingly endless sand bar at Mousterlin and the river and lagoon at Benodet. We enjoy Cap Coz with its lovely stretch of sand backed by pine trees. Most beaches offer basic facilities and many have cafes and restaurants with adjacent parking facilities which are free.

The Crozon peninsula has many rugged coves and is a haven for sunbathers. Room for Water sports, especially surfing, kite boarding can be found on various Crozon beaches. It also has stretches which are lovely for 'rock pooling' so don't forget your buckets and nets. Our children love the beaches at L'Aber where they have found an abundance of marine life which somehow have a habit of making their way home to become yet another 'potential pet'.

On the far south-western point of Brittany is the famous stretch of surfing beaches from Baie des Trépassés to La Torche. There are areas designated for surfing only and those for swimming.
