About Us

Sam

Theo the crayfish catcher!

Amanda

Wilbur, natural born poser!

Flora of the jungle!

Bibi, couch commando!

The Davis family consisting of Sam, Amanda, Flora, Theo, our dog, Wilbur, and their newest feline edition, Bibi, plus a myriad of fish and other wildlife adopted by Theo, live in the village of Laz, just south of the market town of Châteauneuf du Faou. Before moving to Brittany they were living in the south-coast city of Brighton, England. After receiving his doctorate from the University of London and doing a stint in the UK fly fishing industry, Sam left his R & D position at St George's Medical School to become a professional fishing guide in Finistère, Brittany. Sam, who born in Japan, was raised in Summerville, South Carolina (USA) where all kinds of fishing and outdoor life go hand-in-hand. Sam's wife, Amanda, worked for Vogue magazine in London and now manages all things family when she is not out helping English-speaking house buyers realise their dream of living Brittany. Amanda and the kids were all born in Brighton.

We have always dreamed of running a business which marries our passions for fishing, food, and the outdoors, hence the birth of this new Anglo-American-French venture.
